Eh. That's pretty late for something like E3. The job was posted two days ago. As a hiring manager, I generally plan on six weeks minimum from the time a job is posted to getting someone in the door. Hard to see them bringing someone in in early June and having them oversee the reveal of a new game less than two weeks later. I would assume this means Game Awards at the earliest or something like Gamescom (although that doesn't seem like the proper venue for a reaveal like that).

yes, not for this E3

Can someone explain why we're expecting Forza Horizon 5 rather than the new Forza Motorsport this year? Would love for that to be true, but I thought the latter was already announced for this year?
Forza Motorsport never got a release date. We just know the platforms, which are PC and Series X|S.
Seems like exciting news for those that care.
Noooooo *gif*. I recently finished some of these titles. But it's awesome to see Xbox doing these enhancements.

That's so interesting! Klob - didn't know that you were confident in us seeing FH5 this E3! That gets me very excited
I'm with Jeff Grubb on this one and do expect FH to show up this Summer. I also might have an idea about the location, which is not Japan, but that info didn't went too well with FH4 the last time, so let's leave that to the team!

There were some events in FH4 that we raced against motorcycles and I thought it would be pretty cool to have them on the game. I wish they would put it in FH5, but it probably won't happen.

A South America location for FH5 would be really awesome too. Chile, Argentina or Brazil could get you some really diverse geographies.

Hope they set it in somewhere like south America, places like Chille, Argentina have amazing scenery, also would love it if they did what they did in FH2 and have multiple locations for the map (FH2 had a mixture of france and italy).

I want Japan. But if FH5 comes out this year it would be crossgen. But a Japan next gen only would be cool also.

I wonder if they'll keep the seasonal tech with FH5 or have some new design direction.

Do you expect it to be cross-gen?
No idea, no info, no hard opinion on it. I'd guess so at least, because I don't think it's a clever idea to separate the Game Pass user base with such a huge title this early when this kind of game should definitely be scalable without restrictions.

Regarding the location, I think the team deserves to make that decision and what they feel passionate about, which absolutely showed in Forza Horizon 4. The game will be worse when the team has to make a game they maybe didn't intent to. They'll knock it out of the park with the next one again.

I was never sold on Japan, I don't think they'd be able to capture the cities well enough in a Horizon game and when I think of Japan I think of walking, not driving. The countryside is beautiful for sure, but I don't know how I'd feel about ripping through it at 150mph.

I'm sure wherever it is it'll be fun as shit.

How about one vague hint on location?

Someone was asking about the Forza panel and what FM will test. I said they just said it'll be a part of the game in the forza monthly. However on twitter they also responded with this answer to someone asking:

Forza Horizon 5, set in Ohio
Forza Horizon set in Albion.

On a serious note, if it's not japan. Then I'd like to see germany or something like norway.

Korea would also be awesome. Doesn't have to be Japan. Asia in general would be a breath of fresh air.

Yea my guess is that if it is releasing this year or early next year it'll be cross-gen, which isn't really a bad thing imo. Playground are wizards so I expect FH5 to blow people away.

You guys are sleeping on XGP (Publishing), I genuinely think we got some surprises coming from them as well this Summer.

I'm not sleeping on it, really.
It's just hard to get excited and list unknown games coming from not-confirmed devs, as opposed to known quantities (games announced or proven studios who will 100% soon unveil games like MachineGames).

Kojima Prod is probably making a game for Xbox, but is it going to be at this E3? I doubt it.

Avalanche is maybe making a game for Xbox, but it's even less certain and they don't have the same track record.

Some of my favorite Xbox games came from the Publishing side, so I believe they're making some big moves, but for now we're not sure about any of it.

Dude revealed his next game 9 months after releasing Phantom Pain+Getting Fired+Building a new studio. It's not super unlikely.

Would not be suprised if they announced the partnership at e3 if the deal is completed by then.

Ah yes, but originally my list was mostly about big gameplay reveals/deep dives, not CG or cinematic annoucements. I don't doubt that Xbox is going to unveil other games through small teasers.

I hear you, they're just not known quantities. I bet many still have a sour taste after the likes of Crackdown 3 (which I enjoyed by the way).
Here's hoping there is marked improvement in the titles from Publishing.

I'm always down for setting lower expectations but using the likes of CD 3 for it when Global Pub released Flight Sim not that long ago seems weird.

If it's in South America, it has to be in Argentina or Chile. Brazil isn't diverse as these other two countries.

Because I believe in the future, I wanted to share...

I'm in NC, closest data center is in Virginia. I am on a wired fiber optic line. Just as an FYI. Also, haven't played Halo 5 in forever…the last time was testing out streaming on mobile (which was horrible because of the UI). I just booted it and started a quick play session.

And I'm also the guy who did this:

Not sure the revenue split would be the same for subscriptions as it is for games, that'd probably be part of the negotiations, imagine it's pretty complex. I also don't think Game Pass on Steam can be just first party games, I'd say it has to at least be close to what's on Game Pass for PC already. Ideally I'd think they'd want one PC subscription, and most people's preferred access to it would be Steam, but they'd have the Windows Store as an option, and only have to use it for games that weren't on Steam.

Hot damn @ all that 120 fps support!
