Count me in the same boat. Those prices seem reasonable counting on the tech, that's why we talked about it, but on the other hand I still hope those are not final prices. I really want to be able to afford both system for 1 000 €, couldn't see me puting more on consoles.
I feel like the prices are going to be more like:
Series X: $599 (possibly price matched to disc PS5)
Disc PS5: $549
Digital PS5: $449
Series S: $399
Those prices are the absolute ceiling for next gen IMO. Much above that for any of those consoles will be a pretty bad barrier of entry.

So you are saying that Sony told this particular retailer the exact price of the PS5? Not that the retailer is guessing that the PS5 will be around that price?
If a site like Xboxygen knows the price of PS5 thanks to a leak we could assume every insider on Twitter may know it too and they've said nothing. If any big site was able to confirm a $599 pricetag that would be huge news piece for the weekend.
We've been able to verify that the source of this rumour did come from retail channels, but the information itself cannot be verified at this time. Given the uncertainty involved we're locking this thread for now. If other sources corroborate or new information surfaces feel free to make a new thread then.
