Gamespot tweeted out this article, then quickly deleted the tweet. Article is still up. Subtitle of the article is "Winter is coming", but the article itself is incomplete. Sounds like the news will be announced at the concert tonight.

A couple of days before the official start of E3, Square Enix held a concert to celebrate Final Fantasy 7. During the event, Square Enix also announced the release date for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which we can now expect to release during .

Sony recently showed off the most significant gameplay footage of the remake to date during a PlayStation State of Play livestream in May, which ended with a tease for more info to come in June. Presumably, considering Sony's absence from the show, we can also expect to see something new during Square Enix's E3 press conference on Tuesday, June 11, at 6PM PT.

EDIT: article was pulled.

EDIT 2:

Date confirmed. March 3rd, 2020

The fact that the article doesn't have a date in it makes me think this could be an article they have ready to go just in case Square announces something. Doesn't mean an inside scoop.

Prove me wrong Square Enix + Gamespot.

This is 100% a placeholder article so they can get the news out same-minute as the announcement. They probably had an editor going through it ahead of the conference tomorrow, and instead of saving it as just a draft, they set it to go live by accident.

This is also possible. I do this as well.

The article mentions the concert going on now, not the conference.

Could be a legitimate leak, or it could just be an oven-article that's been premade ready to just be edited and published.

A lot of news is prepared before the thing being covered is even a reality.

The "which we can now expect to release during ." snippet gives this just-in-case placeholder vibes unless they were working on putting a link there or something, lol.

I wouldn't be surprised though, based on other recent SE games it seems like they've shifted to only talking about their games when they're 6-8 months away so I don't think it's too far from release.
