Info via famitsu.

The game will not be in 2 blu-ray discs. The original intent was that the game's volume is equivalent to that of 2 blu-ray discs.

I'm pretty sure the official translation states 2 BD discs explicitly.

So it's an internal mistranslation?

Then why does Square Enix say it contains two Blu Ray discs on their marketing materials?

Edit: maybe Famitsu means the entirety of FFVIIR isn't on two Blu Ray discs?

Well, on the Square Enix Store it literally says "includes game on 2 discs." So, I think they've misreported it to be honest.

I'm not overly shocked by this, I think most of us expect it to be mainly the Shinra plant setting no?

Square Enix is falsely advertising the game as Final Fantasy VII Remake when, in fact, it is only a part of the full game. I find this pretty baffling to be honest.

It should be noted that Famitsu's reporting on two blu-ray discs worth of content was a "correction" to the article, meaning they initially reported that it was two discs per everyone's assumption.

Man, the presentation was so bad about informing what the game is that it's my only grip with it. I have high expectations but i just can't let a small disbelief go away.

It's Square. Not only are they doing that to pull a fast one and confuse, but theyv'e also bungled how many discs their own game is on.

Nothing with this company is simple.

I seriously can't believe they're advertising such a relatively small part of the original game as simply the "Final Fantasy 7: Remake". Instead of "part 1" Completely and totally false advertising that's being sold this way to trick casual fans into buying a $60 game thinking they'll get the full experience they had years ago.

I think they were intentionally vague. They could have easily explained this without it being so confusing.

Honestly, as much as I love what I've seen so far, this situation is a bit confusing. First of all, they still haven't told us the total number of parts the Remake is going to release in. Second of all, the game is supposed to launch in March and we still don't have a proper name. Why doesn't it say Episode 1 or Episode Midgar or sth? Finally, they need to clear out if and exactly how Midgar is expanded.

WTF, are you being serious? Part of it is just going to be a movie?
No I'm just making it up. But who knows at this point lol. If they are going to expand Midgar enough to be its own episode, and they want to keep the episode count to single digits...

For a terrifying second I believed you.
I'd jokingly say screenshot this but I don't even want to think of that as being a possibility.

Saying your one disc game has two discs worth of content even though it's still one disc is the most pointless Square-Enix thing ever.
