Cate Blanchett rocks neon orange hair as she shoots film adaptation of Borderlands video game... after earning Oscar nod for Tár

She officially earned an Oscar nomination for her critically-acclaimed film Tár just two days ago.

But Cate Blanchett isn't resting on her laurels.

The actress, 53, was spotted reshooting scenes for another new film, Borderlands, in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Cate, dressed as her character Lilith, donned a head full of neon red-orange hair and an edgy cyberpunk outfit as she strode through the set with a folder in her hand.

Her costume consisted of a low-cut burgundy top, a black structured jacket, and plenty of belts strapped around her waist and legs.

She rocked glossy leather boots and fingerless gloves.

A swipe of smokey eye shadow and blush polished off the makeup.

Borderlands is a film adaptation of the video game of the same name. The feature is based on the 2009 space Western role-playing/first-person-shooter beloved by gamers.

Blanchett is playing Lilith, a superhuman 'Siren' who is one of the games several playable characters and one of only six women in the galaxy who have her psychic abilities.

The game follows four 'vault hunters' on the planet of Pandora, where they try and find a secret location full with advanced alien technology while fending off marauders and thieves.

It seems there is no slowing Cate down following her latest Oscar nomination for her scene-stealing performance in Tár.

The star was nominated in the Best Actress category for her portrayal of Lydia Tár, a manipulative orchestra conductor who rises to become the first-ever female conductor of a German orchestra.

Blanchett is now among a small circle of elite actors who have been nominated for an Oscar eight times, joining the likes of Marlon Brando, Judi Dench, Geraldine Page, Peter O'Toole and Glenn Close.

She has already won two Oscars, one for The Aviator (2005) and the other for Blue Jasmine (2014).
