Orion Developer Exposes Artist Who Stole From Activision

Developer David James of Steam title Orion has been in a battle between Activision and his company, Spiral Game Studios, regarding the unauthorized and illegal use of weapon art content from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 in his game for the past few days.

He has now taken to the Orion Steam page to expose the artist that tried to put someone else's work into his title, a move he didn't want to make, but now feels he has no choice. You can see the whole update here

In short, the artist's name was Binh Le. It appears as if conversations and work passed on were done completely online, particularly through Skype, so James and Le never actually met face to face, which explains the situation a bit more. Since first attempting to get all the answers from Le on what exactly was stolen from Call Of Duty, it appears the artist has cut off all forms of communication without a clear response for James to continue to remove what was stolen from the game. His final message from the artist reads, "I have nothing to say in this matter. I'm really sorry this had to happen. I'm out."

Since exposing Le's profile on Artstation.com, the profile page has been removed. In the end, David assures fans that development on Orion will continue and the team is working harder than ever to get it fixed and out of Steam Early Access despite this major setback.

James also would like to warn other developers to be careful who they hire.
