Civilization 6: 52 minutes of gameplay

Experience an unfiltered look at the next generation of life suck.

The next installment of Civilization releases in October, and thanks to a preview event in New York City, we were able to capture 52 minutes of raw, unfiltered gameplay. Well, mostly raw. We jumped ahead in time in the middle there so you could see some progression without dedicating your whole day to it, but you get the idea.

Sid Meier's Civilization 6 will introduce a host of new mechanics, some of which are shown in the video. Cities are now broken up into districts that take up their own hexes. There's also an entirely new research system, and they've brought back customizable governments as well.

On the combat side, you'll be able to stack support units like battering rams alongside other units, keeping them better defended as you edge ever closer to the enemy's castle walls.

That's really just the tip of the iceberg, though. Give the gameplay video a watch and let us know what you're most curious about in the comments.
